“It’s hard for me to figure that out given that I was raised with far fewer advantages than either of my two opponents. So on the one hand I don’t want to go out of my way to prove my street cred as a down to earth guy.” - Barack Obama

Obama attended a fairly costly private school from the 5th grade through high school. McCain attended private school. Hillary attended Maine East/Main South, both public schools. All three candidates had privileged upbringings - you can barter bits (Obama didn’t had an absentee father, Hillary didn’t go to private school, McCain had to move around a lot), but they’re all part of equivalent classes, and I doubt very much that they really get the people whose votes they’re trying to round up.

Also, McCain should stop trying to paint Obama as a hypocrite for opposing a gasoline tax holiday. He supported it as a state senator, saw that it was ineffective, and is now opposed to it. It’s called L-E-A-R-N-I-N-G. McCain on pooping in his underpants? He was for it before he was against it. Maybe he’s for it again, I don’t know, might be hard to take potty breaks on the trail.

Like a yearlong clock, my late winter flu descended and has left me weak, enfeebled and muddle-headed, with the only hope of restoration spring - which may be here by the weekend! Must hold out the rest of the week… sunlight, warm weather! Thoughts of mortality pushed aside for another many months… life pushing lilacs out of the dead ground.
